Gunman, machete-wielding man rob victim at Tulane motel

NEW ORLEANS - Two men, one armed with a gun and the other with a machete, robbed a man at a Tulane Avenue motel on Sunday, Sept. 1 shortly after midnight.

According to the NOPD, the First District responded to the call of an armed robbery at the Capri Motel in the 2400 block of Tulane Avenue.

Police said the victim told them that a black man armed with a gun and a white man carrying a machete entered the location and left with $62 in cash and two cell phones.

Police said the white man was apprehended by officers at the corner of S. Broad and Banks, while the black man was last seen wearing a Saints jersey, unknown colored pants, sunglasses and a blue bandana that covered his mouth.
