HARVEY, La. -- The bodies of two men were found by inside of a car in Harvey late Tuesday night, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office.
Around 11:58 p.m., officers located a black 1998 Chevrolet, S-10 Blazer with the front passenger side door open, across from 4012 Paige Jeanette. The victims, identified as 19-year-old Nikiayn Westerfield and 19-year-old Dave Harrison had multiple gunshot wounds to their bodies and were pronounced dead on the scene.
Colonel John Fortunato, of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office, says Westerfield, who was found in the driver's seat, had a substantial amount of what appeared to be marijuana in his lap. A semi-automatic handgun was also found near his leg and was determined to have been stolen in a vehicle burglary in Harvey, on August 2. Harrison was found lying across the back seat and had a medium caliber handgun near his body, according to Fortunato.
A number of spent shell casings were recovered near the rear of the vehicle.
There are currently no supsects in the case, and at this time the motive appears to have been drug related.
