MARRERO, La. – A New Orleans man is facing a second-degree murder charge and two attempted murder charges for his role in a fatal shooting on Ames Boulevard Friday, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Dwayne Magee, 20, was arrested Monday by deputies from the sheriff’s office.  The shooting that left Kevin Jackson Jr., 25, dead occurred Friday around noon.

According to the sheriff’s office spokesman Glen Boyd, Magee confessed to “driving his truck on Ames Blvd., and to shooting his handgun at the victims.”

Authorities are searching for two men that were riding in the truck with Magee, though he refuses to identify the suspects, according to Boyd.

Anyone with information is asked to the sheriff’s office at 504-364-5300 or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
