METAIRIE, La. – A 32-year-old man is facing charges in Jefferson Parish for a hit-and-run that left a two-year-old girl with serious injuries, according to Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman Glen Boyd.
Jesus Isaac Lopez was charged with felony hit-and-run and operating a vehicle without lawful presence in the United States, according to Boyd.
Around 6:15 p.m., Lopez struck a two-year-old girl in the parking lot at 3805 Hessemer Avenue. Lopez attempted to drive away from the scene, but he was caught by a JPSO deputy, according to Boyd.
The two-year-old girl was rushed to East Jefferson General Hospital.
