ST. ROSE, La. -- St. Charles deputies are investigating the fatal shooting of a man Sunday.

According to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office, around 9:15 p.m., deputies were called to the 200 block of Third Street in St. Rose. On the scene, 23-year-old Ramal Ellis, of St. Rose, was found lying in the roadway behind the Fifth African Baptish Church.

Ellis had been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead on the scene, said the sheriff's office.
