NEW ORLEANS - A convicted drug suspect was sentenced to 40 years in jail on Monday for killing a young woman while trying to escape from police.
Edward Augustine, 23, was arrested in January of 2011 after a police chase ended when he crashed into a car driven by Mariah Woods, 18, killing her.
Police found dozens of hits of heroin in the car Augustine was driving, which was reported stolen.
