HARVEY, La. -- Deputies are searching for the gunman who shot and killed 34-year-old man in Harvey Sunday evening.
At about 8:10 p.m., Jefferson Parish sheriff's deputies responded to reports of a shooting near the intersection of Alex Kornman and Deerrun in Harvey, according to Col. John Fortunato, the sheriff's spokesman.
Officers found the body of an unidentified African-American man lying in the parking lot in front of 2137 Alex Kornman, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Crime scene technicians recovered a number of spent shell casings from the scene, Fortunato said.
Detectives have not identified a suspect or motive.
