JEFFERSON PARISH, La. – A Marrero woman has been arrested for robbing a bank on the West Bank Tuesday, according to Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman Glen Boyd.
According to the sheriff’s office, Jacqueline Mitchell, 47, entered the Capital One in the 4600 block of the West Bank Expressway around 3:45 p.m. and handed a teller note that read, “give me the money or I will kill you today.”
The teller complied with Mitchell’s demands and handed over cash to her. Mitchell fled the bank, but left the note behind, according to the sheriff’s office. About five minutes after the robbery to JPSO officers spotted a woman, Mitchell, matching the description.
Mitchell allegedly made incriminating statements about the robbery and was carrying cash from the robbery as well. She later confessed to the robbery when questioned by authorities at police headquarters, according to the sheriff’s office.
She was booked for simple robbery of a bank, according to the JPSO.
