BELLE CHASSE, La. - The Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office said it has rounded up more than two dozen suspects in a crackdown on illegal narcotics sales in the parish, Sheriff Lonnie Greco announced Friday.
The 28 suspects are charged with various drug distribution offenses.
Greco said that undercover agents purchased the narcotics throughout the west bank of Plaquemines Parish between May and November. The roundup of the offenders began on Nov. 13.
Greco named the operation "Rotten Pumpkins" because of the proximity to Halloween.
