NEW ORLEANS - Police said a 7-year-old boy was wounded in a shooting Saturday afternoon in Gentilly, which is being classified as an accidental shooting.
The shooting happened in the 5300 block of Warrington Dr., just after 5 p.m., according to Officer Hilal Williams, a police spokeswoman.
Williams said the victim was shot in the back and was listed in stable condition, undergoing surgery at a local hospital.
The incident remains under investigation, Williams said.
