NEW ORLEANS -- A 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection of the murder of a man in Hollygrove on Apr. 20, according to the New Orleans Police Department.

New Orleans police and the U.S. Marshals arrested Garvin Scott for the murder of Brandon Baker, 19, according to a statement from the NOPD.

"On the evening of April 20, 2012, Baker was found lying on the steps of an abandoned residence in the 2900 block of Eagle Street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his body. Baker died on the scene," said the statement from the NOPD.

Authorities identified Scott as a suspect and an arrest warrant for second-degree murder was obtained, according to the NOPD.

Scott was found by authorities Uptown, but he was able to escape police, before being captured in Jefferson Parish, according to the NOPD.
