NEW ORLEANS -- With the help of family members at the scene of the crime, New Orleans police arrested a suspect minutes after a shooting happened in the Leonidas neighborhood.
Terence Hampton, 19, faces one charge of attempted murder.
The incident happened around 5:25 p.m. in the 8800 block of Hickory Avenue.
NOPD spokesman Officer Garry Flot said Hampton entered the home where the unidentified 28-year-old victim was located and shot him in the chest.
Family members were able to restrain Hampton until police arrived.
Police haven't released a motive for the crime.
The victim was last listed in critical condition.
