NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans police say two women are among the four people killed in two separate shootings Friday afternoon.
According to NOPD spokesman Officer Garry Flot, two women and a man were shot and killed outside of a home in the 1900 block of Old Prieur Street. NOPD Superintendent Ronal Serpas is on the scene speaking with homicide investigators.
The victims -- two women, a 58-year-old and a 28-year-old, and a 26-year-old man -- were discovered by police around 4:15 p.m., according to police.
Serpas wouldn't the identity of the victims until family members can be notifitied. He added there were no calls to police reporting gunfire, and there no were no calls to police reporting suspicious activity in the neighborhood.
Serpas asked for the public's help with information regarding the triple murder.
Flot said in a separate shooting, a man was killed in the 2700 block of Verbena Street.
Around 4 p.m., the 61-year-old man was sitting inside a van when a second vehicle pulled up and opened fire on the man, according to police. The victim was shot multiple time and died later at the hospital.
Police haven't released any information on a possible suspect or a motive in either case.
