NEW ORLEANS -- Police are investigating a fatal stabbing in New Orleans East that left a man dead.
A 38-year-old man was stabbed to death in the 10000 block of Roger Drive, according to the New Orleans Police Department. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
The man was stabbed by his wife during an argument, according to police.
"The man and his wife were inside of their home when they became involved in a verbal argument that became physical. During the physical incident, his wife stabbed him to the leg. The 38-year-old man collapsed and died in the street as they attempted to bring him to the hospital," said a statement from the NOPD
The District Attorney's Office was contacted by police and the wife has not been charged, according to police. The investigation is ongoing, though a preliminary report from police classifies the stabbing as justifiable.
