NEW ORLEANS - Three separate shootings occurred in an hourlong span on Tuesday, the same night during which neighborhoods across the metro area participated in the "Night Out Against Crime."
A victim in the Dumaine Street shooting died, according to Orleans Parish coroner. Initial police reports said a man was shot in the face Tuesday evening.
The first shooting happened just after 10 p.m. in the 2200 block of St. Anthony Street in the Seventh Ward.
A man was found with a gun shot wound to the leg, said New Orleans Police Department spokesman Officer Garry Flot.
The other two shootings happened around 10:30 p.m., Flot said.
One of those shooting happened in the 1400 block of Peltier Drive in the Michoud area of New Orleans East.
A man suffered gunshot wounds to the arm and chest.
Just minutes later, another shooting occurred near the intersection of Broad Street and Ursuline Avenue on Dumaine Street. A man was shot in the face in that area.
Police haven't released the conditions or identities of the three victims.
There is no word on a motive, suspects or if any of the crimes are related.
