NEW ORLEANS - Police are investigating two homicide cases, with two men murdered less than an hour apart, in the Hollygrove and Gentilly neighborhoods Saturday night.
Shortly after 8:00 p.m., police confirmed the first murder, with a 60-year-old male victim shot in the head in the 3100 block of Marigny Street, according to Officer Garry Flot, a police spokesman.
The victim's body was found inside of a dark colored Chrysler Sebring. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Then shortly after 9:00 p.m., police confirmed the second murder. A 27-year-old male was found shot to death in the 8900 block of Marks Street in Hollygrove.
The man was shot several times on the porch of a home. He was also pronounced dead on the scene.
Earlier in the evening, a man was also shot near Humanity and Mandeville. The victim was shot in the leg, and his wounds were not life-threatening, Flot said.
The names of the victims have not been released pending notification of family members.
