NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans police have identified an attempted rape suspect and are asking the public’s help in finding him.
Police say the victim identified her attacker as 23-year-old Alex Mendez, after looking through a photo lineup.
According to police, the victim met her attacker on Frenchmen Street last Saturday night. The victim told police Mendez forced her into his bed in the 600 block of Independence Street, where he tried to sexually assault her.
Police say Mendez may be driving a red, two-door pickup truck.
