NEW ORLEANS - A New Orleans police officer was arrested and booked with forcible rape and sexual battery. He remained in jail Thursday morning.
Desmond Pratt was immediately placed on emergency suspension without pay after he was arrested at his home, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
Pratt is a former homicide detective with the Sixth District, according to sources.
He has been with the NOPD since 1997 and was once a member of the Community Public Housing Force.
