NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans police have released a composite sketch of a suspect wanted in an armed robbery early Sunday morning in the Central Business District.

The robbery happened in the 200 block of Girod at about 1 a.m.

Police say the victims were walking under an overhang when the suspect pointed a gun at them and demanded all their money. He made off with their purse and wallet toward Commerce Street.

The suspect is described as a 50-year-old man, about 5'9" to 5'10" tall and has a stocky build. He had a small goatee and mustache that may have had silver and grey patches. He had short hair and was wearing a black, button-down shirt with black pants. He was carrying a red umbrella.

If you can identify this man, call Crimestoppers at 822-1111.
