NEW ORLEANS – An unknown assailant fired through the bedroom window of a New Orleans East home killing an 18-year-old woman and injuring a 19-year-old man.
The couple was asleep at the time of the incident, according to the NOPD.
The shooting occurred around 1:30 a.m. inside of a home in the 7700 block of Branch Street in New Orleans East, police said.
The woman was shot to the body and died on the scene.
The man was shot to the body and transported to the hospital to undergo surgery, police said.
