MARRERO, La. – A Meyersdale, Penn. man accused of strangling and burying a woman in Pennsylvania was arrested in Marrero Wednesday morning.

According to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, Jonathan Beal, 23, was taken into custody around 6 a.m. at a friend’s home on Avenue F in Marrero.  Members of the JPSO and U.S. Marshals found Beal at the home after receiving information that he was staying there.

Beal was wanted in connection with the Sept. 14 disappearance of his ex-girlfriend, Justine Jackson, according to the sheriff’s office.

According to the Associated Press, Beal was charged with murder Tuesday in Jackson’s death after her body was found in a shallow grave Sunday by hiker.  Jackson’s body was found not too far from her home.

Beal was taken to the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center and booked as fugitive from Pennsylvania for murder.
