NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans police have released a picture of a person of interest and a vehicle in connection with the death of NOPD Officer Rodney Thomas.

Thomas died after he was struck on the Interstate 10 highrise earlier this month.

Police spokeswoman Remi Braden said while the pictures are blurry, they're hoping someone may be able to identify the man. You can see the pictures above.

The vehicle in question was last seen at the Best of the Best body shop on Gravier Street on July 7. That's where police found the vehicle believed to have been used in the hit and run.

Braden said the person in the photo seems to be the last one seen driving the vehicle. He's believed to have information about the hit and run.

Police have made several arrests in the case. The alleged driver of the car, 25-year-old Justin McKey, has posted bail.

If you know anything that can help investigators, call Crimestoppers at 822-1111.
