PORT SULPHUR, La. -- A 31-year-old man was arrested by the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office for allegedly sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl.
In early March, the 16-year-old girl told authorities that she was sexually assaulted twice by Timothy Lincoln in February, according to Sheriff Lonnie Greco.
"The victim related that during the incidents, Lincoln provided her with alcohol and possibly an unknown substance that caused her to lose consciousness. Upon waking up, the victim reported that she was nude. After the incidents, Lincoln and the victim had conversations which lead investigators to believe the two engaged in sexual intercourse," said a stament from the sheriff's office.
The victim told authorities Lincoln gave her alcohol on several occasions, including at a bar in Buras that he owns.
On Mar. 19, detectives got an arrest warrant for Lincoln for sexual battery, but were unable to find him. Authorities later learned he had fled to Florida, said a statement from the sheriff's office.
Four days later, Lincoln, 31, was arrested in Bradenton, Fla. for his outstanding warrant. Thursday, he was moved back to Plaquemines Parish and booked with sexual battery, felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile charges. He is still in the custody in lieu of a $70,000 bond.
