NEW ORLEANS - The weekend was bloody in New Orleans. Police say that from Friday through Sunday, at least 12 people were shot.
One of the victims was a pregnant teen who was shot in Algiers late Sunday. According to the police, around 10:50 p.m., the girl was shot in the neck, chest and back in the 11000 block of Patterson Road. She was taken to the hospital.
She was one of three people shot Sunday. According to police, the 16-year-old girl is in critical condition, and the fetus is in stable condition.
Around 12:45 a.m., a man shot in the foot in the 3300 block of Garden Oaks Drive in Algiers. Just after 12 p.m., another man was shot in the 13000 block of Chef Menteur Highway in eastern New Orleans, according to police.
Just before 9 p.m., a 28-year-old man was shot twice in Gentilly. The man was inside a vehicle near the intersection of Elysian Fields and Mirabeau when vehicle pulled next to his and someone opened fire, police said.
Five people -- four men and a woman -- were shot Saturday.
Saturday around 7 a.m., two men were shot in eastern New Orleans during an armed robbery, police said. A man held up a business in the 4500 block of Chef Menteur Highway. After getting cash, the robber shot the two employees.
Around 1 p.m., a 27-year-old man was shot multiple times in the 3900 block of Louisiana Parkway, police said.
Around 8 p.m., a 21-year-old man was shot in the 500 block of Josephine Street, and around 8:30 p.m., a 31-year-old woman was shot in the 7800 block of Dorsset Drive.
Friday, three people were shot.
Around 3 p.m. a 20-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man were shot inside a vehicle in eastern New Orleans. The man and the woman were inside a vehicle when someone opened fire, hitting both of them in the 12300 block of the I-10 Service Road, according to police.
Around 5:30 p.m. in Algiers, a man was walking in the 3700 block of Pittari Place, when man approached him with a gun and attempted to rob him. The man began to run and the armed man fired several rounds, hitting the victim, according to police.
So far, no one has died as a result of the shootings.
