NEW ORLEANS -- The family of an Army sergeant is hoping tips from the public will help investigators find the person of interest in his murder.

The reward for new information in the case is now at $8,000.

Sgt. Joseph Anderson, 31, was the victim of a carjacking Jan. 1. Investigators say Anderson had just dropped his three kids off and was walking back to his SUV when he was shot dead in the driveway.

His family says Jefferson Parish detectives have been working around the clock to find his killer and that they are confident he will be brought to justice.

“If anybody has any information, we would appreciate them saying something about it because he didn't deserve what he got, because he was a good kid,” said Rayford Morgan, Anderson’s father-in-law.
