HOUMA, La. -- A second suspect is wanted by Houma Police for questioning in connection with the murder of Connely Duplantis, a Catholic deacon who, shortly after giving out communion at Annunziata Church, was gunned down at his parent's house.

Detectives identified Randy James Wallace Jr., 18, of Houma, as a person of interest in Duplantis' murder.

Wallace is wanted by police along with a 17-year-old homeless boy, Leron Calloway.  Both are believed to be armed and dangerous, said Houma Police.

Duplantis was shot around 1 p.m. Sunday, police said, when the 66-year-old man had just finished lunch with his parents and was putting his dog into his van, when several suspects came up from behind. The motive is believed to be robbery.

Police released a photo that was taken from a nearby business after crime occurred. Polcie believe Wallace is on the left and Calloway is on the right.

Anyone with information is asked to call Houma Police at 985-873-6371, as well as the Bayou Region Crime Stoppers at 1-800-743-7433 or www.crimestoppersbr.org.
