METAIRIE, La. – For the second time in two days law enforcement will gather to mourn the loss of a St. John Parish deputy.
Visitation for Brandon Nielsen will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lake Lawn in Metairie and from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will follow.
Nielsen and fellow officer Jeremy Triche were shot to death while investigating the shooting of another officer in a trailer park last week.
Seven people have been arrested and charged in the shooting of fellow officer Mike Boyington whose shooting in a parking lot led to the investigation and shooting deaths of Triche and Nielsen. Charges have not yet been filed in their killings.
Nielsen leaves behind a wife and five children.
Deputy Jason Triche was also wounded in the shooting at the trailer park.
Monday hundreds of law enforcement personnel and friends mourned Jeremy Triche.
