MONTZ, La. — The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested three people in connection with two recent fires in Montz, La., authorities said Tuesday morning.
Beau Badeaux, 24, of Montz and two teenagers – one 16, the other 15 – all admitted to officials to being involved in two fires set Friday and another set in March, St. Charles Parish Sheriff Greg Champagne said.
The three are set to appear in court Tuesday. Badeaux was charged with three counts of aggravated arson and six counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. The teenagers were charged with three counts each of aggravated arson.
One of those fires burned down the dream home of David Ceaser, who watched as flames shot high above surrounding neighborhoods Friday night. Caeser’s home was recently finished, a two-story house reduced to smoldering rubble.
“My brick layer finished the last brick,” Caeser said. “He laid the last brick. Everything was wonderful.”
As of Monday, state investigators said arson was believed to be behind the burning of Caeser’s home as only the only utility running to the newly built structure was water.
