NEW ORLEANS - A suspect in the brazen burglary of lawn equipment from a Lakeview backyard was arrested Monday afternoon, according to the NOPD.
Police said a detective spotted a vehicle and a person driving the vehicle who fit the description of the suspect who was caught on surveillance video ringing a doorbell at a Lakeview home and then walking into the backyard and making off with several hundred dollars worth of lawn equipment.
The suspect's vehicle was spotted about 2 p.m. Monday near Chef Highway and Iroquois. Police said detectives noted the suspect was wearing an orange vest.
Kevin Alvis, 50, was booked with one count of simple burglary.
