NEW ORLEANS - Police are searching for a man they say invaded an Algiers home and beat up a woman before fleeing.
The incident occurred just before noon on November 26 in the 1400 block of Casa Calvo.
According to police spokesman Frank Robertson, the suspect rang the doorbell and presented himself as a FEMA worker there to trim trees. Robertson said the suspect then forced himself into the home where he committed battery on the victim.
The suspect is described as a black man in his 40s, around 5'3" tall with a slender build. He was said to be unshaven with some grey in his facial hair. He was said to be wearing a jacket with a green and white plaid shirt underneath and khaki-style pants.
Police also said the suspect was seen in the area of the crime conversing with other people.
