Suspect wanted for double slaying in Metairie surrenders to police

JJEFFERSON PARISH, La. -- A second suspect has been arrested in connection with a double murder at Clearview Parkway and the I-10 Service Road on Dec. 30.

According to Col. John Fortunato, Jason "Jay" Thomas, 21, of New Orleans, turned himself into the sheriff's office Thursday morning. He was booked with two counts of second-degree murder in the killings of Demekrtic Anderson-Whitfield and Tacara Moss-Williams. Both were fatally shot.

A third suspect identified as Glenn “Ace” Lemon, 30, of Jefferson, remains at large.

Garard "Herc" Achelles, 27, of New Orleans, was booked earlier with two counts of second-degree murder in the deaths of Whitfield and Williams, according to the JPSO.
