NEW ORLEANS - Police continue to look for three men in a weekend French Quarter beating that left a man with a broken jaw and a woman with a bruised lip.
New surveillance video in the incident appears to show the first police officer who responded to the scene getting out of his car for about six minutes.
While motion detection cameras didn't pick up the officer getting in or out of the car, the video does appear to show the car being empty at one point and someone approaching the ambulance.
The couple that was attacked may have exchanged words with the attackers a short time before the incident. A report was not filed by police initially in the case, after the incident was ruled to be "unfounded."
Police said that was because another officer who was dispatched at a later time did not find the ambulance.
The second officer, and a dispatcher are now subjects of an internal police investigation.
