NEW ORLEANS – Police announced the arrest of three men in connection with an armed robbery near Audubon Park.
Christopher Nash, 22, Victor Carr, 22, Jordan Collins, 21, were arrested by the New Orleans Police Department for the armed robbery of three people in the 6400 block of St. Charles Avenue, according to a statement from Remi Braden, a spokesperson for the NOPD.
According to police, shortly after midnight Tuesday, three victims were approached by three men armed men “completely clad in black and wearing bandanas to cover their faces.” The armed robbers took cell phones, purses and wallets from the victims, said Braden in a statement.
Police developed a vehicle of interest through interviews and were led to an apartment complex in the 2600 block of Poydras Street, according to Braden.
As police were on a stakeout of the building, “The vehicle did eventually arrive there, and detectives questioned the driver and his two passengers -- Carr, Collins and Nash -- who were all wearing black. Nash, who was in the back seat, had a handgun in his possession. Further questioning led to one of the men admitting that all three were involved in the armed robbery the night before,” said the statement from Braden.
Inside an apartment for one of the men, police found a second handgun and the three victim’s cell phones, according Braden.
Nash, Carr and Collins were booked on three counts of armed robbery.
