NEW ORLEANS - A French teacher at Trinity Episcopal School was killed over the weekend in Memphis on a trip home. The suspect in her death is her son.
Alexandre Kim, 22, is charged with the murder of his mother, Estelle Carron, whose body was found by firefighters who put out a blaze at her Memphis home Sunday morning.
Authorities said Carron was strangled and that the fire was set to cover up the killing.
Carron moved to New Orleans in August to become a French teacher. Dr. Michael Kuhn, the Trinity headmaster, said Carron had made an impression during her short time at the school.
‘She brought a tremendous amount of joy and quickly endeared herself. She was a friend, colleague and a teacher. So many here are feeling her loss."
