NEW ORLEANS - Two juveniles, one of whom was wearing an ankle monitor, have been arrested in connection with at least two Uptown robberies committed Tuesday night, according to the NOPD.

Police said another juvenile was still at large and the police are working to determine if the trio was involved in a carjacking and shooting on Camp Street.

That carjacking that left a man shot in the chest near Camp and Delachaise streets at his home around 10:30 p.m. A confrontation ensued when two men approached the victim. The suspects opened fire, hit the victim and then took his SUV, a Cadillac Escalade.

The incident has unsettled neighbors in the area, where violent crime is uncommon.

Police could be seen combing the area, near Camp and Delachaise streets Tuesday night, looking for evidence. Neighbors said the police responded to the scene quickly after shots were fired.

The victim was taken to University Hospital and was listed in critical condition as of Tuesday evening.

The crime was one of four Tuesday and Wednesday in the Uptown area, according to the Uptown Messenger.

According to police, a woman was approached by two armed men and had her purse snatched at First and St. Charles around the same time as the carjacking.

Another carjacking was reported in the 2300 block of Marengo Street also around the same time as the carjacking on Camp and Delchaise. A woman was held up by an armed man, between the ages of 18-21. She was ordered out of her car and the suspect fled in her car, according to police.
