NEW ORLEANS -- Police released an image of two men wanted for an Algiers purse snatching.
Tuesday, shortly before 5 p.m., a woman had taken the Canal Street Ferry to Algiers to take a tour of the Algiers Point area when she was attacked by two men, according to police.
The two men came up from behind the woman near the intersection of Eliza and Sequin streets, with one man pulling on the straps of her purse. The woman fought back and was thrown to the ground. A second man kicked her in back, forcing her drop her purse, police said.
After getting the purse, the men fled down Eliza Street, before heading northbound on Bouny Street.
Police described one suspect as an African American male with a medium-brown complexion, 6 feet tall, with a medium build, short hair and a beard. He was wearing a light blue t-shirt with large pink words on front and white jeans. The second suspect is described as an African-American male, with dark complexion, 6-feet-2, with a slim build. He was wearing a gray baseball cap, black jacket and blue jean shorts.
