NEW ORLEANS – After responding to a fight between two women, police discovered multiple guns and an illegal drug dealing business at an Uptown home, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
Just before 2 p.m. Tuesday, police arrived at the scene in the 2500 block of Milan Street and witnessed the disturbance.
One of the women took off into a house on Milan and officers found her hiding under a bed in the residence, according to police.
While inside the home, officers saw a handgun in plain view, as well as several bags of marijuana.
The officers obtained a search warrant and returned to the home with a canine unit, the NOPD said.
Investigators discovered a second handgun and an assault rifle, one of which had been reported stolen in Jefferson Parish.
Two liquid hydrocodone bottles, 40 grams of crack cocaine and 42 grams of powder cocaine, which together have an estimated street value of up to $12,000, were found, police said. Two digital scales and more than $3,500 in cash were also discovered.
Alfonso Stovall, 25, who was inside the residence, was arrested and booked with possession of crack cocaine, possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and three counts of illegal carrying of weapons with a controlled, dangerous substance.
