NEW ORLEANS - A 21-year-old woman has been booked in connection with the brazen carjacking and attempting shooting of a woman on Dublin Street Uptown last week.
According to the NOPD, Cabrina Watson admitted to her involvement in the crime. She was booked with armed robbery, two counts of aggravated assault and discharge of a firearm during a violent crime.
Police said the female victim was walking in the 1100 block of Dublin when Watson jumped from between cars while holding a silver revolver. According to police, Watson demanded the victim's purse, which she tossed.
Police said the victim's keys dropped out of the purse and then Watson ordered her to pick them up and hand them to her. When the victim refused, Watson fired a shot at her.
No one was injured. The victim's car was recovered later in the 2200 block of Cambronne Street.
Police said Watson was identified through a photo lineup and she was taken to the police station where she gave a statement admitting her involvement.
