LACOMBE, La. -- One man has been arrested in connection with a shooting Nov. 3 that left one person dead and four others injured.
According to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office, Herman Williams and Jarred Kirsh, 24, forced their way into a home in the 27600 block of Mirmar Street.
Williams was arrested Tuesday in New Orleans by U.S. Marshals.
Kirsh died in the Nov. 4 shooting when deputies said they found him inside the front doorway of the home.
Deputies said when they arrived, they found multiple people shot in the home.
Four others, three men and one woman, were also shot. Officials said they are expected to survive.
Neighbors who live near the home where the shooting took place are startled.
"My kids go to school and you know we're not in that lifestyle, it's kind of scary man, to think something like that went on feet from my house," neighbor Steve Batiste said.
Others say they originally thought the sound of gunshot came from hunters.
"Just sitting outside, underneath the house in the man cave and we heard just gun shots. We live around the hunters we're right off the bayou so we didn't think nothing of it and it's very shocking to us," neighbor Brandon Howard said.
While the incident is being investigated, neighbors say they plan on being extra cautious.
"For now yeah, probably it will make people think twice. Hopefully this will blow over and we can all get back to normal," Howard said.
Detectives they believe the robbery was drug-related and the home was targeted. Officials are still investigating if there are any other possible suspects or people involved.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
