NEW ORLEANS - Police arrested a Bourbon Street bouncer for impersonating a police officer after he allegedly chased and tased someone.
According to Louisiana State Police, 39-year-old Wayne Lozier Jr. was arrested for aggravated battery and false personation of a police officer.
Police say an arrest warrant was issued for Lozier’s arrest following an incident on Bourbon Street on Nov. 25, 2017. Troopers saw Lozier chasing a man on Bourbon Street and assisted with the apprehension. While troopers were handcuffing the man, Lozier approached and tased the man.
Police say Lozier was wearing “tactical pants,” a gun belt with a Glock handgun and a tactical ballistic vest with “State Agent” on the front and back. Investigators learned that Lozier was not a law enforcement officer and was employed as a security guard working the front door of a Bourbon Street bar.
Lozier was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center
