BRPD to parent: ‘This is the police. We have your kids.'

BATON ROUGE – A woman has been charged with child desertion after leaving three children under the age of 9 at home alone.

According to WBRZ, police were called out to a home Wednesday night in reference to an alarm. When they arrived, they found the children in the home alone.

Officers said they tried to call 28-year-old Angelica Causey, but she did not answer.

The children told police Causey left around 11 p.m. with two other women. Police then brought the kids to a station, where they were given food and drinks.

An hour later, police say Causey sent a text message to the officer’s phone with, “Who dis MzJ (heart face) 2 U Biiiih (wink face) (kiss face)”, WBRZ reported.

The officer then replied with, “This is the police. We have your kids. Call BRPD 4th District.”
