MANDEVILLE, La. -- A little over two weeks before Halloween, Mandeville Police arrested two teenagers for wearing a scary clown mask.

Wednesday around 10:15 p.m., police were called to Sunset Point. A call reported that a person inside a Ford Focus was wearing the mask in the car and then getting out and frightening pedestrians, police said.

When police arrived at the 100 block of Massena Drive, officers found a clown mask inside the car on the floor.

The driver, Ryan Bailey, 18, of Mandeville, and the passenger, a 16-year-old juvenile, of Mandeville, were arrested.

They were charged with mask wearing prohibited in public places, a misdemeanor offense. They were each issued a summons and released.
