NEW ORLEANS – A fatal shooting late Monday on Louisiana Avenue is the city’s latest homicide.
The death of a male victim, who was shot in the 1900 block of Louisiana Avenue, has been ruled a homicide, according to John Gagliano, a spokesman for the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office.
According to a police report, the male victim was found with a gunshot wound to the torso. He was taken to an area hospital, where he later died.
The male victim was the third homicide on Monday. Two other fatal shootings – one in the 800 block of North Dupre Street and one in the 4700 block of Stemway Drive – claimed the lives of two other men.
Additionally, on Sunday, a woman killed in a shooting in New Orleans East, and a man was gunned down in St. Roch early Tuesday morning, totaling five homicides in three days and the seventh since the beginning of October.
