NEW ORLEANS – Police are looking into the possibility of any connection between the Tuesday murder of a mother of three in Central City, and other recent shootings in the area.
NOPD Chief Michael Harrison said Sixth District Officers and the multi-agency gang unit are all investigating what the chief called an uptick in violence in the area.
“Tomorrow night, I'm going to walk with the commander and my officers, who are going to talk to as many citizens in that neighborhood as we possibly can,” said Harrison. “To tell them, we stand with them, we support them, but we need them in partnership with us to help solve this problem and fight this crime problem.”
Anyone with information about the incidents in Central City is asked to call Crimestoppers at (504 822-1111.
