NOPD: Man breaks into house, flips over sleeping baby in crib

NEW ORLEANS – A man is in jail after police said he broke into a home early Wednesday morning near Central City and flipped over a child’s crib.

The incident happened just after midnight in the 2300 block of Toledano Street.

Police said Randy Harris, 33, broke the back window of the home where a 36-year-old woman lived. Harris flipped over the child’s crib, where the 10-month-old was sleeping, said police.

When the victim grabbed the child and ran to her neighbor’s home, police said, Harris followed and was arrested after trying to kick the door down.

Harris was booked with various charges, including home invasion and domestic abuse.
