Suspect identified in Algiers homicide on De'Armas Street

NEW ORLEANS -- Police identified a suspect in the murder of a man in Algiers.

According to NOPD, 24-year-old Charles Johnson shot a man in the head in the 3300 block of De'Armas Street on the night of Dec. 11, 2016. Police were called to the scene around 9:28 p.m. where they found the victim. He was taken to a hospital for treatment, but died from his wound.

Detectives developed Johnson as a suspect during their investigation according to NOPD. Anyone with information on his location is asked to call NOPD's Homicide Division at 504-658-5300 or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
