Two men carjacked in the 7th Ward, police say

NEW ORLEANS -- Police are investigating a carjacking where they say a man was hit in the face with a gun in the 7th Ward.

The incident happened around 11:30 p.m. in the 1600 block of Touro Street.

An initial police report said two 23-year-old men were approached by two armed men demanding money. The victims were told to get on the ground, and one man threw his money. That's when police said the armed men picked up the money, hit one of the victims in the face with a gun and took his car.

The stolen vehicle is a 2008 black Altima, with Louisiana license plate 197AJM.
