NEW ORLEANS – A fifth former NOPD officer charged with helping to cover up the shootings of several civilians on the Danziger Bridge shortly after Katrina has pleaded guilty to a pair of charges in federal court Friday.
Ignatius Hills, 33, was charged with conspiracy to obstruct justice and misprision of a felony.
Hills was accused of taking part in covering up the shootings by providing false information so the shootings would appear justified.
"We will not rest iuntil every individual who has committed a crime in this case has been brought to justice," said U.S. Attorney Jim Letten.
Two people were killed and four others were injured during that shooting.
