NEW ORLEANS - 4 Investigates has learned federal subpoenas have been issued in connection with prison construction contracts under the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office.
Several sources confirmed that subpoenas were issued in connection with construction at the prison by a company called the DRC Group.
The Mobile, Alabama company recently completed a 500-bed temporary jail facility at Orleans Parish Prison, but it is not clear what contract or contracts are under scrutiny.
Efforts to reach DRC director Robert Isakson and Sheriff Marlin Gusman for comment Friday night were unsuccessful.
The DRC Group specializes in disaster cleanup and recovery and received millions of dollars of work in the New Orleans area after Hurricane Katrina.
