French Quarter Fest forecast: Fantastic!

Meteorologist Dave Nussbaum says much cooler, less humid and sunny weather is expected into the weekend.

METEOROLOGIST DAVE NUSSBAUM -- Get ready for some fantastic weather for the rest of the week!

The cold front is east of Louisiana and an area of high pressure will build over us today. This will make it sunny and less humid. We will be much cooler than Wednesday with highs only in the lower 70s.

The weather will be very comfortable for the first pitch at the NOLA Babycakes Inaugural game Thursday at 7 p.m. Temperatures will be in the upper 60s, but they will fall into the lower 60s. You may want to take a light jacket with you!

Overnight, it will be clear and cooler - especially north of the lake. Lows on the Northshore will be in the mid-40s and the Southshore will be in the mid-50s. A good night to open the windows!

Friday will be another gorgeous day with plenty of sunshine and cool high temperatures in the lower 70s.

The weekend is going to be beautiful!! This is perfect weather for the French Quarter Fest, Strawberry Fest and anything else that is going on! We will be sunny and milder on Saturday with highs in the lower to mid-70s.

Sunday will be partly cloudy and warm with highs around 80. Enjoy the great Spring Weather all weekend!
